Consider these items before your next market to help YOUR Display stand out from other market vendors.

- Plan out your booth space before the day of the market
- Make sure your business name is visible and at several places with your booth
- Think about including:
- Business name
- Logo
- Pricing
- QR codes to socials
- Way to capture email addresses for customer retention
- Think about including:
- Make sure your business name is visible and at several places with your booth
- Place your products at eye level
- Display your prices and business info as much as possible because
- Customers will walk away if prices aren’t displayed and they don’t want to ask!
- Display your prices and business info as much as possible because
- Vertical displays are not always the greatest. Have items at a slight angle to allow customers to see products without bending down or standing on their tiptoes to see what you have.
- Use different stands to give height to your table! Having more items closer to eye level will attract more customers. No one wants to look through all of your products on one level. Your brain cannot organize what to look at first. Stay organized.
- Organize your checkout materials and station
- Coordinate your decor with your brand
- Stay consistent with your brand colors, brand inspiration, fonts, logos, vision, mission and brand stories
- Create a brand kit to stay focused
- Stay consistent with your brand colors, brand inspiration, fonts, logos, vision, mission and brand stories
- Have business cards
- Use a tablecloth on your tables!
- Hide extra merchandise, totes and your own personal things under the table cloth. Please don’t set your items in walkways or behind your back table.
Things to prepare for your display before market day arrives

- Create a day of checklist to make sure you have everything before you leave
- Put together an “oh crap” tote with glue, tape, scissors, etc.
- Put information about the market on your socials. Throwing in a discount never hurts 😉
- How are you keeping track of sales?
- Point of Sale (POS) System or good ole trusty paper and pen. Have it ready!
- Print out QR codes for payment systems, like Venmo, and be prepared with a plan B if the internet/signal is not good that day!
- Have something free for customers that they can take home that tells them what they can do with your products. Recipe cards, how to use your products, etc.
Other things to consider to help your display stand out
- Print a portion of your brand kit and a little about you (remember something people can read in about 20 seconds!) and put it on a poster and stand it up near the entrance of your booth space
- Get good at storytelling! Tell people why you make your products, and the effort that goes into producing them. (Keep it to less than 30 seconds, not many people are there to hear your whole life story!)
- Brand your shopping bags
- Zazzle makes great hand stamps (essentially unlimited amount of stamps vs. select number of stickers)
- Are your products smelly? (in a good way!)
- Can you leave a lid off or have a tester available?
- Can people taste test before buying?
- Do you need something to “clean the palate” between sniffs? Coffee beans work great, or little cups of lemon water, or unsalted crackers are nice too!
Ways to Spruce it up!

- Faux or real greenery is pleasing to the eye for most set ups. Can you set up something to break up your display, or help draw the eye to something you want customers to notice?
- Flat rugs are fun and add a little umph to your display. Remember to tack it down-you don’t want anyone to trip!!!
- KISS – Keep is Simple Silly!
- Less is more. Space between items helps people want to pick up your items, leading to more sales. Keep items spread out to help things look neat and tidy. Space is a good thing!
Do your own research
Find out what inspires you and catches your eye when you walk into a store. Look on Pinterest or Google for thousands of inspirations. If you like the look of a market display, others probably will too!
